Bill Kaigler
President & CEO

As the founder of medSage Technologies, Bill launched a new company from scratch and built a successful organization with more than 200 customer implementations and 40+ employees. medSage Technologies was sold to Philips Electronics in December of 2010, generating extremely positive returns for all medSage investors. Since the sale of medSage, Mr. Kaigler has focused his energies on developing NewCare Solutions and the ConnectCare product.

Bill has more than 26 years of experience in product management, business development, engineering, and marketing in the business-to-business technology and medical device manufacturing industries. During his career, he successfully launched more than a dozen new products, and was awarded more than ten patents for his innovations.

Prior to founding medSage, Mr. Kaigler served as Vice President of Product Management for Moai Technologies, Inc. (originally Medebiz), an Internet startup software company specializing in e-sourcing of B2B healthcare contract management. He was also the Director of New Business Ventures for Respironics.

Mr. Kaigler has a Master of Science Degree in Industrial Administration from Carnegie Mellon University Graduate School of Industrial Administration and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia University.

Jennifer Payne
Web Software Development

Prior to the formation of NewCare Solutions in January of 2011, Jennifer led the ConnectCare software development team at medSage Technologies, which was responsible for the initial design and implementation of the ConnectCare product that is in use today. Before joining medSage Technologies in 2006, Mrs. Payne worked as a software engineer at Per-Se Technologies and was an integral part of the team developing barcode-enabled point-of-care products at McKesson Healthcare, a Fortune 15 company.

Jennifer earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from Slippery Rock University in 2002. An active member of the Ruby and Ruby on Rails community, Jennifer co-founded the Pittsburgh Ruby Brigade and contributes to multiple open source projects.

Mike Sturdevant
Mechanical Engineering

Michael Sturdevant is a NewCare Solutions investor, serves as NewCare’s head of Mechanical Engineering and is President and Chief Engineer at Virtec Enterprises, LLC. Virtec is a product development firm that designs new products for the medical, aerospace, and commercial markets. Virtec customers range from Fortune 500 companies to lone inventors with a great idea. Virtec was founded in 1997 and is located in Concord Township, OH.

Mike’s work experience includes managing departments at TCAM Technologies and Cyberex, serving as lead mechanical engineer at Allen Bradley, and leading an engineering group at Bailey Controls.

Monica Diacopoulos
Human Resources

Monica Diacopoulos has over 15 years of Human Resources experience in the manufacturing, medical device, nuclear and services industries. Her experiences include serving as the Director of Human Resources of a high growth $450MM medical device business unit with 1,000 employees in two U.S. locations. Monica has a breadth of HR experience in business processes improvement and implementation, staffing & selection, succession planning, employee relations, training & development, compensation, performance management, benefits and employee communications.

Ms. Diacopoulos holds a BA in Communications from the University of Pittsburgh, an MA in Industrial and Labor Relations from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), and a Certificate in Human Resources Management from the University of California at Irvine (UCI).

Dan Bevevino
Chief Financial Officer

Dan Bevevino joined the ConnectCare team in February of 2012 and has over 25 years of finance and accounting experience. His previous experience includes positions as manager of cost accounting, controller, CFO and Vice President of Finance with Respironics. Prior to his affiliation with Respironics, Mr. Bevevino, a certified pubic accountant, spent five years with the international accounting firm of Ernst & Young, where he was an audit manager.

A Pennsylvania native, Dan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Duquesne University. He also has a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Finance from the University of Notre Dame. Dan also participated in Notre Dame's London Program - one semester of international corporate case analysis under British faculty.

Julie Kaigler
Operations

Julie Kaigler has over 15 years of experience in the insurance and franchising industries, including roles in operational auditing, product development & management, project management, and operations management. Prior to joining NewCare, Julie was most recently the Operations Manager for UPMC Health Benefits, Inc., where she successfully developed and launched the commercial workers’ compensation subsidiary for UPMC’s Insurance Services Division.

Julie earned a Master of Science in Management from Boston University and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh.

Dave Mawhinney
Chairman

Dave Mawhinney is a dedicated entrepreneur with a passion for achieving what others think impossible. Dave has made a career of turning great ideas into successful Internet companies since the 1990s. He was most recently a General Partner of PNC Technology Investors. He co-founded three successful startup ventures before that, including Premier Health Exchange (acquired by Medibuy), Hawk Medical (acquired by McKesson), and Industry.Net (merged with AT&T Business Network to form Nets, Inc.).

Mr. Mawhinney holds an MBA with Distinction from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Science in Physics, Summa Cum Laude, from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Donald Wagner
Director

Don Wagner, an experienced medical device entrepreneur, served as a member of the board of directors for medSage Technologies, LLC and is an active member of the American Diabetes Association.

John Starr
Board Advisor

John has more than 15 years of experience developing medical products and SAAS software products. Mr. Starr currently holds the position of Senior Vice President of Ariba, leading their global services organization with more than 300 professionals in 14 countries across the Americas, Europe and Asia.

John has a Master of Science Degree in Industrial Administration from Carnegie Mellon University Graduate School of Industrial Administration and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University.

Tom Jones
Board Advisor

Tom has years of experience in the startup spaces as a member of management, and investor and managing partner of investment organizations. Mr. Jones co-founded BlueTree Capital Group, and was an investor in medSage Technologies LLC, NewCare’s former parent company.
